Random Randomness and then some Tunes

"When Gary told me he had found Jesus I thought, Yahoo! We're rich! But, it turned out to be something different." - Jack Handy, SNL

Jack Handy seriously cracks me up. Mostly because I totally get that weird, jacked up sense of humor.

You’d  know that about me if you were my Facebook friend. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had people say” Dude. When I read your status updates on Facebook I find myself wondering ‘What in the heck goes through her mind when she writes this stuff?’

Which totally reminds me of a joke my Grandpa used to tell us every single time we would get in the car :

Q: “What goes through a bugs mind when he hits the windshield?”
A: “His Butt.”

Moxie and I got to hang out with the Real, New and Improved Ronald McDonald this past week and it was hysterical.  He speaks fluent Spanish and is quite the charmer!

The Ronald McDonald house invited me to come down and tour their new facility in conjunction with their #giveahand campaign.  You can buy a helping hand at any of your local McDonalds and it will go to support your local McDonalds House.

Did you know that the SLC Ronald House had 1,800 families stay there last year? That was over 5,000 people that they helped house while their children were in the hospital. While we were there, they were at capacity, so if anyone needed a place to stay, they would have had to try and find them some where else to stay.

IMG_4536 They also have this great program where for every minute you pledge to spend with your family, McDonalds with donate $1 to your local McDonalds House—up to $10,000.  And, if you write Give A Hand on your hand and upload it to their site, they are randomly picking 1 photo a day to give $500.  EVERY DAY you have a chance to win $500.  If you want more information about that—check out their press release:

We had so much fun and this is a really great cause! I am really excited about the future projects that we have in the works!

I am gunning for the Mother of year award. I’m blowing this joint today to head south to hang with my home-girls.  I cleaned the house, put the laundry away and MADE DINNER for everyone tonight.

Can you say Mother Guilt? Cause I can’t. My mouth doesn’t form those two words. Like ever.

In all seriousness, I can’t wait to get on the road and head south. I’ve got ideas to bounce off people. Food to eat and friends to laugh with. Lucky them they get to hang with a chick that sounds like James Earl Jones with a Smokers cough.

Good times.

I think my kids are actually excited for me to blow this popsicle stand because their Dad is a WAY better parent than me. More fun, too. House is always clean; Dinner is at exactly 5:30; Baths are at exactly 7:30 and the children are all nestled snug in their beds at 8:30.

He really is a fantastic parent and they don’t even miss me one little bit.

Especially the head spinning thing.

This is the magnet that I have hanging on my fridge. It was the one thing that I really wanted when my Father-in-law died. It cracks me up every time I look at it.

That’s the end of this weeks Random 10 Friday. I hope you have a superb weekend wherever you are. I’m going to be singing my heart out at the “Wannahockalugi” with all my home girls. Oh. And then there’s that whole Bloggy Bootcamp, too.
