Dear Self:
It was really cool when Thing 3 lost her tooth, wasn't it?! She jumped up and down and was so excited to get her visit from the tooth fairy. Imagine her horror when she awoke the next morning and the tooth was still there. You assured her ever so nicely that the tooth fairy would indeed come that very night. Only problem? She didn't and Thing 3 was sad again. Four times the tooth fairy forgot to come and collect her goods.
Repeat after me, Motherboard:
The tooth fairy is not real {the tooth fairy is not real}
YOU are the tooth fairy {I am the tooth fairy}
YOU take the tooth so the kid will not need therapy. {I take the tooth so my kid will not need therapy}
After the fourth time of forgetting, you got pretty smart. You told her that you actually had emailed the Tooth Fairy, who it turns out is not a girl but a boy. And he really doesn't like being called the Tooth Fairy but rather the Tooth-a-nator (remember Santa Clause?) .
Yeah. That guy? Well, turns out he has been on vacation on the coast of Tooth-landia for the last week or so. He took his family there to enjoy some time relaxing at the beach. Being the Tooth-a-nator is extremely hard work, you know.
He said to tell you, Thing 3, that he would be back on the job the same day that you went back to school. You should look for a rather sweet present from Tooth-landia under your pillow.
Yeah. That was quick thinking right there! You are so freakin' smart. That was clever. And quick witted. (don't break your arm patting yourself on the back...) It was also very bad parenting, I might add. You forgot to pick up your kids teeth-- four times you forgot? Sheesh woman! You should be shot!
The tooth fairy... err... I mean the Tooth-a-nator is not real. I repeat. He is not real. YOU are the Tooth-a-nator. You. You. You. Remember that. You. are. the. Tooth.-a.-nator.
It really would be a good idea to remember this to stop future mishaps with the lost teeth. Or reasons for future therapy. Just sayin'. You dumb Tooth-a-nator.
